ABOUT SreyPICH*

Sreypich* was rescued from human trafficking and sexual exploitation that was happening in her home. She told her mother she wasn’t feeling well and the doctors discovered evidence of abuse. She revealed the truth of her exploitation to her mother, that it was happening in their home when she was at work and she reported the perpetrator to police. The perpetrator is on the run and the police currently have a warrant out for his arrest. Sreypich* was welcomed into our SHE Community Care program as she has a safe place to live in the city with her mother while we provide counselling, social work and financial support for her medical and educational needs. Our social worker is already working with the family and our counsellors are helping Sreypich* to heal. We are also developing a long term care plan for her vital medical treatments.

SREYPICH’s* FAMILY

Sreypich’s* parents divorced when she was young. Her mother has been supporting her two children by herself (Sreypich* has a younger brother). Her mother has found work with a cleaning company to support the family while they are living in the city.

SREYPICH’S* FUTURE

Sreypick* wants to own her own salon someday. We are currently helping her apply for vocational programs in salon and business skills. Our social workers will continue to support and work with her family to make sure they are all looked after and build a community she can reintegrate to safely.
