ABOUT SreyNak*

SreyNak* was welcomed to the SHE Rescue Home after being rescued from human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Her perpetrator had groomed and abuse her for years threatening her with violence if she told anyone and giving her money and gifts to ingratiate himself. One day he took her from school and locked her in a hotel room. When her family came to pick her up from school, the police and local village chief were called and she was eventually found and rescued. Even thought the perpetrator has escape custody, the court case is still going ahead. Our social worker is already starting to work with the family and our housemothers and counsellors are helping SreyNak* feel safe in the SHE Rescue Home.

SREYNak’s* FAMILY

SreyNak’s* parents are farmers on their rice fields. Her father also works in construction contracts when the harvest is slow. She has one older brother who has left school and works in hospitality.

SREYnak’S* FUTURE

SreyNak* wants to be a teacher. She will need to stay in school to make this dream a reality. Our social workers will continue to support and work with her family to make sure they are all looked after and build a community she can reintegrate to safely.
