ABOUT Srey Oun*

Srey Oun* was welcomed to the SHE Rescue Home after being rescued from human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Her perpetrator was someone who had built trust with the family and used his position in the family to gain access to Srey Oun* to abuse her. Srey Oun's* mother is the incredible hero of this story for getting the authorities involved when she saw changes in her daughters behaviour and found out what was happening. She fought to ensure her daughter was bought to a safe place. Our social worker is already starting to work with the family to make sure all the children in the family are safe and our housemothers and counsellors are helping Srey Oun* feel safe in the SHE Rescue Home.

SREY OUN’S* FAMILY

Srey Oun’s* mother is a widow who supports her five children by herself. She is supporting the family by selling fried freshwater shellfish in the local market. Srey Oun* is the middle child and she loves playing with her younger brother.

SREY OUN’S* FUTURE

Srey Oun* wants to be a teacher. She will need to stay in school to make this dream a reality. Our social workers will continue to support and work with her family to make sure they are all looked after and build a community she can reintegrate to safely.
