Mums, Bubs and Saving Lives

We’ve had an exciting month in the SHE Rescue Home, meeting new beautiful healthy babies!

It is our privilege to provide financial support to Nalen's* and Channy's* mums. Nalen* has been in the SHE Rescue Home for 12 months now and Channy* is safely reintegrated home and each of their mums have given birth to gorgeous little bubs in the past month. We celebrate with these families and the success of healthy births and we champion them as they care for and raise these children.

It's been nearly 3 years since Pharen* was reintegrated back to her family and now she's about to start a family of her own! Pharen's* due date is just around the corner and we couldn't be more excited to meet her baby.

We are so grateful for our emergency medical fund when it comes to these moments, but even more so when we are confronted with life-threatening conditions and decisions. In the last month, Kanha* was diagnosed with an internal infection, and without surgery, the infection might have taken her life. Kanha* is still with us today because of the support we are able to provide.

And that’s a huge thanks to YOU. We don’t overlook your contributions and how you value our cause enough to give financially, and the families in Cambodia certainly don’t either. Our medical fund ensures maintainable, healthy lives for our girls and unfortunately, that isn’t always common in a developing country like Cambodia.

Our emergency medical fund is now very low after these births and surgery so we are reaching out for donations of any size to our fund so we can continue to provide medical support to our girls and their families.

So much of our work in the lives of the girls are seeds waiting to grow: a slow process of counselling and social work, of working with families, of investigating into reintegration options. When it comes to medical support, we see the immediate results of our work, and what a crazy difference it makes! We have no doubt our seeds will sprout so much more hope and change than imaginable.

And that’s what it’s all about.
