Goodbye Tim & Bel

At the end of 2019, our SHE Rescue Home said goodbye to beloved Tim and Belinda and their family.

The family moved from Australia to Cambodia in 2016 when Tim accepted the role of In-Country Director. As a family, they have been the most incredible blessing to the Home and have very much shaped the organisation we are today. Tim took on the responsibility of managing all our Cambodian projects, making tough decisions along the way and leading all the staff and volunteers in Cambodia. He carried our vision in all that he did and he was an inspiring leader.

Belinda did an incredible job running and leading the teams on mission trips. With grace and warmth, she would invite teams into our world and take them to different sights to make their trips memorable and impacting. She balanced home life, taking care of her kids, and being fully available for teams during their trip.

This beautiful family exemplifies what it means to serve and love others.

It was a massive decision and a significant sacrifice to move countries but they did it unified as a family and ready to rescue the vulnerable. It took a whole lot of courage from each member of the family and we are so grateful for their bravery.

It was a sad day saying goodbye to Tim, Belinda and the three kids and the heartache was felt from their end too. They truly made Cambodia their home and they were welcomed by the staff as family. As much as they would have loved to stay, their kids are now in the last few years of school and so they will finish their school education in Australia.

Introducing Our New In-Country Director

We are very excited to welcome Rathana (a.k.a. Tom) as In-Country Director! Tom has already been working with us for a year and a half, supporting Tim as his executive assistant and overseeing HR. We have always valued Tom’s contribution to the team and we know he is going to lead the team with excellence and vision.

This is quite a huge milestone for us because our SHE Rescue Home is now Khmer-run. It establishes the organisation as a truly sustainable Khmer project, run by Khmer people for Khmer people.

Tom has really proven himself as deserving of the role so we are excited that we could give this opportunity to him.

There is a great future ahead for all our projects at IT’S NOT OK Projects. Thank you for supporting us & championing us through our changes!
