A New Chapter of Providing Hope Begins.

We have an exciting announcement to make, our new website has been launched! You might have noticed we have been looking a little different lately and wondering, are we still the SHE Rescue Home? Don’t worry, we’ve just had a little facelift. So why the name change?

Over the last 5 years, many projects came across our desks that we were asked to be involved in. More and more we saw the need for the hope that the SHE Rescue Home had provided in other places. It was around this time that IT’S NOT OK Projects had its inception, to expand the scope of the mission of the SHE Rescue home and grow our influence in other countries and areas of injustice. All these projects had a common golden thread running through them, projects that required the provision hope, either through restoring lives or preventing injustice. We saw a need in the local communities around our Colorado and Brisbane offices and knew we needed a bigger vision than what we were already doing. We knew that to restore lives and provide hope meant more than just the SHE Rescue Home, and the more that we could do, we must do. Our scope had to be bigger, and IT’S NOT OK Projects was born.

We still have the same heart and vision, just a little bigger. Under the new structure, our Cambodian office oversees 5 projects. The SHE Rescue Home, Community-Based Care and the recently opened SHE Transition Home restore lives, while the HER Initiative and the SHE Sewing Centre, prevent injustice. This is just in Cambodia and in the coming years, we hope to see projects restoring those affected by and preventing trafficking in the USA and domestic violence in Australia.

Bit by bit we have been slowly making the transition over to IT’S NOT OK Projects and with the launch of the new website, it’s finally time. Boldly saying that injustice of any kind everywhere is not okay. It’s an exciting time for us, growing always is. We hope that you will come along with us on this new journey. A new chapter of providing hope begins.
