SHE Rescue Home: 2024 Milestone Highlights

What an extraordinary year it has been for the SHE Rescue Home!

Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones, celebrated significant progress, and impacted countless lives.

In January, we reopened the SHE Transition Home, a vital stepping stone for young women pursuing independence and brighter futures.

5 Incredible Women moved from the SHE Rescue Home to the SHE Transition Home, embarking on exciting new chapters filled with opportunity and hope.

In December, we welcomed our very first resident from a partner organization into the SHE Transition Home, deepening our collaborative efforts to reach more women rescued from human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

  • 1 Beautiful Reintegration: A heartwarming success as one of our girls returned to her family and community, equipped with the tools and resilience to thrive.

After months of hard work by our exceptional team, including our amazing in-country director, we successfully renewed our MOUs with the Cambodian government! This monumental achievement ensures our ability to operate and make a difference in Cambodia for another three years.

FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE

Justice in the courts takes time, patience and a lot of bravery to testify against perpetrators.

1 girls court case has been delayed, cancelled and postponed for over 6 years. She was finally able to testify in December this year.

HEALING MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT

Healing isn’t linear, is a continuous process and easier in a safe community.

This year we an extraordinary amount of hospital visit for the girls and their family members with conditions including dengue fever, an ectopic pregnancy and diabetes.

EDUCATION IS VITAL

1 girl graduated high school and was accepted into university!

2 girls successfully received their lower high school diplomas.

1 girl won a poetry competition

1 girl started guitar lessons

LEARNING NEW SKILLS

4 girls finished their vocational training and have started apprenticeships or moved on to further study.

One girl is going to hospitality course during the week and a graphic design course on the weekend
